Annemarie Meisling is Sustainability Director at Chr. Hansen, a leading company in food and health ingredients. She has more than 12 years of sustainability expertise from Novo Nordisk, COWI, the World Bank, DI, the US Congress and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Jigmi Yoser Thinley became in March 2008, Bhutan's first ever elected Prime Minister. Mr. Jigmi Thinley stressed the need to focus on the Bhutanese notion of gross national happiness, i.e. to base government policy on national happiness rather than purely economic considerations.

Amongst the various awards received by him, Jigmi Y.Thinley was conferred the Druk Thuksey Medal, which is the highest civilian decoration, by His Majesty the Fifth King of Bhutan in 2009. In the same year Pennsylvania State University awarded him the Distinguished Alumni Award, which is the highest honor that the university confers on its most outstanding alumnus. In 2010, he was awarded the Global Human Resource Excellence Award at the World HRD Congress held in Mumbai.

Gapminder is a non-profit venture promoting sustainable global development and achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals by increased use and understanding of statistics and other information about social, economic and environmental development at local, national and global levels.

Gapminder is a modern “museum” that helps making the world understandable, using the Internet.

Gapminder was founded in Stockholm by Ola Rosling, Anna Rosling Rönnlund and Hans Rosling on February 25, 2005.
