Opportunities for Danish Companies in the Australian Defence Sector

Roundtable meeting: Australia is increasing its defence budget by 81 percent. Participate in this meeting to learn more about what this can mean for your company!

Australia’s defense budget will jump 81 per cent over the next decade, from AUD 32.4 billion (DKK 169 billion) in fiscal year 2016-17 to AUD 58.7 billion (DKK 307 billion) in 2025-26.  Overall spending in the next ten years for “investment in new and enhanced capabilities” will add up to AUD 195 billion (DKK 1,019 billion).

Danish suppliers to the defence and security sector have a good track record in Australia, especially in the maritime sector, and there is a good match between the strongholds of the Danish defence industry and the solutions and capabilities that Australia will invest in over the next decade.

Twenty-five per cent of the AUD 195 billion will be dedicated to expanding the capabilities of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), but there will also be significant investments in air, land and enabling capabilities.
