BoP Learning Lab organized the “High-tech low-cost” seminar and workshop 2nd of December 2016 which was hosted by the Danish Technical University (DTU), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Confederation of Danish Industry (DI).
At the event, inspiring Danish examples were show-cased and new ideas were generated by more than 150 active participants. The goal of the event was not only to inspire participants but also to start developing practical ideas that can push business progress and help achieve the global goals for sustainable development (the SDGs). In four thematic workshops a diverse group of participants, including companies, NGOs and researchers, worked hard to translate SDG aspirations into tangible business ideas.
Jakob Bejbro Andersen, CEO from MASH Biotech, expressed after the event: "High-tech low-cost is a very relevant topic for my company, since we focus on utilizing high-tech solutions in developing countries where the cost of services and products cannot be the same as in e.g. Denmark. The event organizers had found a variety of interesting and relevant speakers for the seminar and equally interesting was the fact that we in the professionally facilitated workshops had the opportunity to meet and develop new ideas with other stakeholders with an interest in the area."
