In May 2009 the Africa Commission chaired by the Danish Prime Minister will present its final recommendations for future development cooperation with Africa. From the outset, the Africa Commission has had a special focus on youth, employment and economic growth.
As a means to this end, DI has taken the initiative to gather recommendations for the Africa Commission from the eight business associations that make up the Eastern and Southern African Business Membership Organization Network (the ESA BMO Network). Through a consultative process, the five most imminent challenges facing business in Africa today have been selected and a number of concrete recommendations for action identified.
We hope that the recommendations made in this publication will inspire the Africa Commission in its work.
