Success on the US Market

What is it that makes the American market so difficult for Danish companies, when they experience so much success on other export markets? The reasons are, of course, many but the main obstacles are the size and complexity of the market and the le-vel of competition. Also, many Danish companies do not take into account the variety of challenges in their approach to the market - neither in their preparatory work or in their choice of partner, which is the entry mode most often used.
