More foreign investment in Denmark

New figures published by the National Bank of Denmark show that foreign investment in Denmark in 2015 was up – for the second year running. “It is good to see that other countries are showing an increased interest in investing in Denmark,” says Deputy Director Kent Damsgaard from the Confederation of Danish Industry. Danish investment abroad has shown steady growth year on year.

“We have had a period in which it has been difficult to attract foreign businesses to Denmark. They have reduced their investment for several years running. But this trend seems now, luckily, to have been reversed,” says Kent Damsgaard, deputy director at the Confederation of Danish Industry.

“It is good to see that other countries have started to show greater interest in investing in Denmark. It is a good sign and reflects the fact that the government has focused on improving conditions for the business community in recent years,” says Kent Damsgaard.

“It is important that Denmark is an attractive manufacturing country both for Danish and foreign enterprises. Foreign businesses bring in a great deal of knowhow. This knowhow is important because it contributes to increasing productivity across the Danish business community,” says Kent Damsgaard.

“Danish investment abroad has increased over a long period. This should not, however, be seen as a sign that people are opting out of Denmark as a manufacturing country. It is very much about Danish businesses wanting to secure a presence in high-growth markets far from Denmark,” says Kent Damsgaard.
