Denmark tumbles down the wealth ladder
In ten years both Taiwan and South Korea may be wealthier than Denmark, according to a new study. Denmark is tumbling down the list of the richest countries in the world.
While the Prime Minister dreams of Denmark becoming among the ten richest countries in the world, Denmark continues to slide down the wealth charts.
In ten years, both Taiwan and South Korea may have overtaken Denmark according to a new DI study on growth prospects. This is unless the productivity of Danish companies is significantly approved and the Danes start to work more.
“This analysis should really be an eye opener. I think the ten goals that the Prime Minister has defined are fine, but it is regrettable that we have not begun a discussion on how to meet these targets,” says CEO Thomas Hofmann-Bang, NKT.
The study shows that 40 years ago, Denmark was the world’s 7th richest country, but we have since tumbled down to number 13, and in ten years Denmark will just be the world’s 18th richest country.
