Developing Denmark

Developing Denmark is a one year DI campaign focusing on economic growth and development in Denmark. Through discussions and dialogue with people, companies and organizations in Denmark as well as abroad, DI will focus on ways and means to create economic growth, the basis for our modern welfare society.

In the search for answers and solutions to boost economic growth in Denmark, DI is looking towards the world’s high growth economies for ideas and insights. We ask the questions:

  • How can Denmark learn from the world’s high growth economies?
  • How may Danish businesses link closer to the world’s high growth economies?

So far two international events have taken place as part of the Developing Denmark campaign.

A link closer to India

In January this year the Danish Minister for Economic and Business Affairs, H.E. Mr Brian Mikkelsen met with Danish and Indian enterprises and organisations in order to discuss what Denmark can learn from India and how the two countries can be linked closer together for mutual benefits.

How to increase exports to Brazil

In March a similar event took place in Brazil. The Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs Lene Espersen and managers from Danish enterprises operating in Brazil met to discuss how to boost economic growth in Denmark. Among the topics discussed was how to increase Danish exports to Brazil and what the Danes can learn from the entrepreneurial and open spirits of the Brazilians.

The Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) conducts a campaign entitled Developing Denmark to promote growth in Denmark.
