In a globalised economy, companies cannot afford to focus solely on their national labour markets in pursuit of the most qualified employees.
Even thought influenced by the different business cycles the need for recruiting workers from abroad never ceases to be an important employment source for Danish companies. That’s why the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) actively supports member companies in their search for qualified employees abroad.
Among the most satisfied
A recent study by the European Union showed that employees in Denmark are among the most satisfied in the world. High net wages and high level of employment security, the good balance between working hours and family commitments, a modern work organization which give employees more responsibility and the informal Danish working culture are some of the prime reasons for that.
Foreign labour schemes available
Strengthening the workforce is in a globalised economy is also essential for competiveness and growth. A long line of foreign labour schemes are available in Denmark.
The schemes have been created to counter the fact that the number of people on the labour market will shrink and it will be a barrier for growth in the companies. DI continues to work politically on creating reforms to expand the workforce in order to break down hiring barriers.
