Surprising Durban agreement with shortcomings

After prolonged talks, negotiators finally succeeded in reaching agreement at the climate change summit COP17 in Durban. DI welcomes the fact that an agreement was reached, but does not regard the result as particularly positive in terms of creating equal conditions for businesses.

Businesses are better at tackling the climate change challenge
Although the outcome of the COP17 climate change meeting in Durban was not ideal, businesses are ready to offer their solutions.
Industry has the solutions
Despite a somewhat disappointing outcome of the COP17 climate change summit last week in Durban, the meetings were important for businesses because they involved technology transfer, climate adaptations and financing. All these are central issues for the future demand for Danish climate solutions.

The demand for imported foods in China is increasing. Industry analysts predict that China will become the world’s largest market for imported foods in 2018. This is good news for Danish food producers.
Denmark still among the world’s least corrupt countries
Corruption is widespread in many countries, according to Transparency International. In the organisation’s annual index of corruption in the world, important growth markets such as the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) are found at the “bad” end of the index.
